Random Rant Time: Fake names on Facebook

The purpose of Facebook is to, according to Facebook itself, “Keep up with friends, upload an unlimited number of photos, share links and videos, and learn more about the people they meet.”

Now let me repeat… “Keep up with friends, upload an unlimited number of photos, share links and videos, and learn more about the people they meet.”

Let’s focus on, “Keep up with friends.”

Unique Oreo

It ticks me off when someone adds me on Facebook that I might know, or I might not, and they use a fake name.  Even better, they use a fake name, and their picture sucks…

Unique Oreo What… what the… what the hell is that?

You’re covering up your face!  So even if I do know you (not likely, I have no friends named Unique Oreo) I won’t bloody know because you can’t even show your face in your pic!!!!!

There’s got to be something I can do about this…

Oh wait…

There is…

You see, on Facebook it’s against the rules to use fake names.  Anybody worth their weight in sand knows this.

Oreo Fail Sweet, Sweet Justice

In the end, because you are neither an oreo, nor unique (you used the name of a popular brand as your name, very ununique and tacky) you have been served.

If your name really is Unique Oreo… I apologize… your parents have an offbeat sense of humor (and not in a good way).
