Relocating

Alright ya’ll.  I threw a FIT when my professors in Electronic Technologies in Journalism said they we’re only allowing Wordpress as a host for our class blogs.  But after using Wordpress this semester, I must say I am pleased with it.

We’re moving.

Blogger has been good to me.  I like a lot of the functions and simplicity that Blogger offers.  However, I like a lot of the things that Wordpress offers as well.  They’re both good for different things and for different reasons.  It’s easier to have all my blogs on the same host, and to be honest I like the Wordpress tracking dashboard better.

I already created the new blog:  http://foryourwits.wordpress.com/

So don’t panic.

It’s even still called Tidbits for your Wits.  Nothing but the location and format has changed.

A Tribute to How Lazy I Can Be

I have always disliked tomatoes.

From the beginning of my existence, tomatoes have been frowned upon in my eyes, whether it be their indecision on being a fruit or vegetable or their skin and fleshy consistency, they have not be a choice food in my book.

So the other day I got this sandwich on campus.  I was in a hurry to eat because I was due at the photo lab to do some work before class.  I saw the tomatoes on the sandwich, but decided I was too lazy to remove them.  Yes, I was too LAZY to take two seconds to remove something I don’t like.  It was a lazy day.  I even opened up the sandwich to peer at the tomatoes as I threw some mayo on it, BECAUSE IT ISN’T A SANDWICH WITHOUT MAYO!

So I bit into the sandwich and to my surprise it was fairly good.  Figuring I had just gotten a bite without tomatoes, I continued to eat until I had devoured the whole thing.  That was a damn good sandwich.

I love tomatoes.

I do not know if my taste buds have changed since the last decade when I ate a tomato and thought it disgusting or what.  I honestly don’t think I’ll be eating another sandwich without tomatoes ever again.  Something about the way it combines with the mayo tastes really good.

Now go out minions, eat some tomatoes.

New Blog (This one’s being graded) O_O

This semester I am taking a class called Electronic Technologies in Journalism.  This class is meant to give Journalists a varied skill set so that they can be more competitive in the work force (and it’s nice to know how to do stuff that will probably come up).

The way they’re grading this course is not through tests or quizzes, but rather through a blog.  Basically, we create a blog covering a topic of our choice, hopefully something we like, and use the techniques they’ll teach us in this class in order to enhance said blog.  At the end of the semester, they will grade said blog on the basis of how we grasped what they taught us.

SOOO!  I made a blog that is going to cover news in the video game industry.  When it comes time to produce content using the techniques we have been taught, I will create a podcast using audio recording software, create a vidcast using video editing software, etc.  Since I love video games and I already have a fairly good grasp on technology, this class should be a cake walk.

BUUUT!  Do you know what would make it easier?  If you guys kind of helped out by making me feel like my work is being viewed by more than just profs who couldn’t care less about what I’m writing about.  That’s right, if you could read maybe a post every now and then, or hell, just open it up and glance at it, I would be a very happy camper.

You want me to be a happy camper.

You want to check in to my GRADED HOMEWORK.

You want me to do good in school.

You want me to be able to support myself in the future.

Do you want to be responsible for me failing out of school due to depression because I didn’t get an A in that one class I thought I would do fantastic in?

No.

You do not.

So clickeh the linkeh!

Groundbreaking Way to Tie Your Shoes;

Watch this…

Right after watching this video I literally reached over, grabbed a tennis shoe, and ties it this way.  I cannot believe how easy that was.  I am in awe of how much easier my childhood could have been.  Honestly…  I am going to use this from now on and eventually teach my children this way.  Outstanding!

Yes I have been slacking…

But I have been sick.  I’ve come down with a cold/sinus infection/I don’t know, but I’m not going to the doctor type of sickness.  Usually when I get sick it’s this “whatever it is” thing that involves strong pressure in my head, burning eyes, burning nose, occasional loss of voice, and sniffles.  It happens about twice a year, and usually leaves me after a week or less.

On top of this, school has been less than fun.  I’m kind of severely annoyed at WKU for a variety of things.  Right now it’s because for some reason my Public Relations book that was delivered (according to my package tracking on Amazon) on Saturday is no where to be seen.  Upon inquiring at the desk, they simply have no explanations.  If it’s not here by Friday, I will be paying fifty dollars for said book, in addition to the five I already spent the first time.  Most likely I will buy the book, only to have it appear in my mailbox that exact same day.  Just watch, it’ll happen.

In addition, I have already ordered a new camera for a photo class I’m required to take, being a Journalism major, and am waiting for it to come in to Best Buy so I can do those assignments as well, what fun.  Because of these distractions, this post is short, and not fun filled.  I’ll try harder next time.  In fact, Friday hopefully I will have said camera, and if I’m feeling up to it, I will take advantage of its HD video recording and maybe post a video, but probably not as I sound horrible right now.  Adios.

Go to Bed…

I have posted so much this week.

No one should complain, because posting more is never a bad thing.

I hope.

This is going to be a short post because I should be reading about Comparative Politics, Economics, and what have you.  So we’re going to keep it short and sweet.

Also I am going to bed soon.

This past week, early classes have required me to go to bed earlier and impose upon myself a new sleeping schedule vastly different from my summer one.  My summer schedule included weekdays staying up until around 3 and waking up at 11, and on weekends staying up until about 2 or 3 and waking up at 7, because my mother was home and sleeping in is absolutely unacceptable.  In face, sleeping until 7 is time wasted.

Now that I have gotten to school and realized that there is NO way I will do well in an 8 am class unless I make myself sleep at a decent time, I have taken to disciplining myself and imposing at least 8 hour sleep times.  This means when I have a class at 8 am, I usually go to bed at 10:30, etc.  This has actually been wonderful.

Sure, I lose a lot of XBox time, but to be honest I feel so much better now that I go to sleep and wake up at decent times.  Hell, I even eat breakfast.  Other college students will laugh, and badger me for not living like a college student, being sleep deprived, and getting not so hot grades, but whatever.  Last year I stayed up way too late every single night.  I will not do that again.

This has got to be one of my worst written posts as most of the sentences are incomplete thoughts as I ramble and sleep begins to take me.

Go to bed.

But first watch this video…

Haha
